SlideShare is a hosting service online slideshow. Users can upload files to file formats: PowerPoint, PDF Keynote or OpenOffice presentations. Launched on October 4, 2006, the website is considered similar to YouTube, but for slideshows. The website was originally designed to be used by companies to share slides between employees more easily, but has since expanded to become also a series of large numbers of slides that are loaded only to entertain. The website gets about 12 million unique visitors per month.
